Bonding with an adult mynah is an ongoing process rather than a finished product. Even well-bonded birds require daily positive interaction to maintain the strength of their attachment to their caregivers. Mynah birds that are neglected socially—left in their cage for long periods without interaction—may become withdrawn, develop stress-related behaviors, or redirect their social energy into excessive screaming to solicit attention. Vocal behavior in adult mynahs is often at its peak during the prime years. A well-stimulated adult mynah may have an extensive vocabulary and an impressive repertoire of environmental sounds, and it will use these vocalizations actively throughout the day. Mynah birds tend to be most vocal in the morning and late afternoon, which aligns with the natural activity patterns of wild birds. While the talking ability of mynah birds is one of their most endearing traits, excessive or disruptive screaming can develop if the bird learns that loud vocalizations reliably produce a response from its caregivers. Feather Care & Grooming
