Some of these, like full-spectrum lighting, are critical for birds housed indoors under artificial light. Others, like a quality travel carrier, may see infrequent use but are indispensable in the moments they are needed, whether for veterinary visits, evacuations, or relocations.

Quality matters more than quantity when building an accessory kit. A single well-designed stainless steel food dish that locks securely to the cage bars and resists tipping outperforms three cheap plastic bowls that crack, stain, and harbor bacteria in surface scratches.
