Sexual maturity in Desert Kingsnakes typically coincides with or slightly precedes full physical maturity, with males becoming reproductively capable as early as eighteen months of age and females usually reaching breeding condition between two and three years. Even keepers with no intention of breeding their animals should be aware of the behavioral changes that reproductive maturity can introduce.
