DIY & Budget Enrichment Ideas

One of the advantages of keeping stick insects is that effective enrichment costs very little. Many of the best habitat additions are free or nearly free, sourced from your garden, local parks, or household supplies. A few well-chosen branches, some collected leaves, and a piece of repurposed fabric can transform a basic enclosure into a complex, stimulating habitat.

Twigs and small branches collected from non-toxic trees make excellent climbing structures. Look for pieces with interesting shapes — forks, curves, and multiple smaller offshoots — that create a more complex network for the insects to navigate.
