Ceylons are curious, agile cats that can cover ground quickly when motivated, and even a brief escape through an open door can result in a cat that is blocks away before anyone notices. Geofencing is a particularly valuable feature for indoor Ceylons that occasionally access a catio or supervised garden area. By defining a virtual boundary around the home or yard, the tracker sends an immediate alert to the owner's phone whenever the cat crosses the perimeter. This provides an early warning system for escapes, allowing retrieval before the cat has traveled far enough to become disoriented or encounter hazards. The geofence radius should be set tightly enough to trigger promptly but with a small buffer to avoid false alarms from GPS drift near the boundary edge.
