Population management is an important practical consideration for any colony setup. Society Finches breed readily and prolifically, and an unchecked colony can quickly outgrow its enclosure. Keepers who maintain mixed-sex colonies should have a clear plan for managing offspring, whether through rehoming, egg management, or expanding housing capacity.
