Lens luxation may occur as pressure stretches supporting structures, potentially worsening outflow obstruction. Corneal exposure and ulceration can develop from severe buphthalmos. Intraocular hemorrhage may complicate advanced disease. Phthisis bulbi, shrinkage of the globe, represents end-stage degeneration of severely affected eyes. Secondary infections may develop in compromised eyes. Early aggressive treatment and ongoing monitoring aim to prevent or minimize these complications, preserving comfort and function as long as possible.
