During hot weather, keeping the car's air conditioning running and minimizing the time the carrier spends in direct sunlight are essential precautions. A temporary holding enclosure for use during cleaning, maintenance, or short-term quarantine is a separate but related accessory worth keeping available. A large, opaque plastic storage tub with ventilation holes drilled in the upper walls and a securely latching lid serves this purpose well. The tub should be large enough for the snake to stretch out partially but not so large that it feels exposed and stressed.
