Breeders competing in song contests often give careful thought to cage placement relative to room acoustics, though for pet owners the effect is modest compared to factors like nutrition and health.
For owners keeping multiple Timbrados, housing strategy becomes more complex. Males housed within hearing distance of each other will often engage in competitive singing, which can be desirable for song development but stressful if birds cannot escape each other's vocalizations. Visual barriers between cages can reduce territorial stress while still allowing the auditory interaction that stimulates song learning.
