Small pieces of driftwood, clusters of smooth river stones, and low artificial or drought-tolerant live plants create a visually appealing habitat that also provides additional cover and tactile stimulation. The Night Snake is not a strong climber compared to arboreal species, but it will readily ascend low-profile branches and rock formations that are positioned at gentle angles. Including one or two such features gives the snake the option to elevate itself slightly above the substrate, which some individuals use for thermoregulation or as ambush positions during feeding.
