The powder coating should be smooth, free of chips or rough spots that a ferret could gnaw and ingest, and thick enough to resist the corrosive effects of urine exposure. Ferrets can be reliably litter trained, though their consistency tends to fall short of what cat owners might expect. During warmer months or in climates where indoor temperatures routinely approach the danger zone, supplemental cooling measures may be necessary.
