Keepers should approach enrichment with the understanding that the goal is to offer choices rather than to force interaction. A new climbing structure, a relocated water dish, or a different prey species presented in an unfamiliar way gives the frog an opportunity to investigate, adapt, and make decisions about its environment. Some individuals will respond enthusiastically to novel stimuli, while others may require several days to approach a new object or explore a rearranged section of their enclosure. Both responses are normal, and patience is essential. Forcing interaction by restricting hiding spots or removing familiar resting areas to push a frog toward a new feature creates stress rather than enrichment and defeats the purpose entirely.
