Digital melanomas affecting the nail bed or toe similarly carry a guarded prognosis due to their invasive nature and tendency to spread. In contrast, melanomas occurring on haired skin often behave more benignly and may be cured with complete surgical excision alone. This location-dependent behavior makes accurate diagnosis and staging essential for appropriate treatment planning.
