Oral-nasal fistulas can develop when upper tooth abscesses erode through the palate. Eye involvement may occur with upper premolar and molar abscesses. Jaw weakening from extensive bone destruction predisposes to pathological fracture. Prompt treatment of tooth fractures prevents these complications and their associated morbidity.
