Pica can cause gastrointestinal foreign bodies requiring surgical intervention, intestinal obstruction, and toxicity from ingested materials. Tail mutilation can cause severe wounds and may ultimately require amputation. Constant activity from repetitive behaviors can cause exhaustion and weight loss.
