Live plants can enhance the enclosure if species are selected for low light tolerance and high humidity. Pothos, ferns, mosses, and miniature fittonia work well. Plants help stabilize humidity, absorb some waste products, and create visual interest, though they're entirely optional from the salamander's perspective.
