Juvenile ferrets under one year of age are extraordinarily active and benefit from fast-paced chase toys, complex tunnel systems, and frequent interactive play sessions with their human caretaker. Adult ferrets between one and five years maintain high activity levels but often develop more sophisticated play preferences, showing sustained interest in puzzle feeders, digging activities, and toys that they can manipulate and cache. Senior ferrets above six years of age may have reduced mobility due to arthritis or other age-related conditions and benefit from softer toys, lower-impact enrichment, and shorter but more frequent play sessions that accommodate their diminished stamina.
