Combination approaches where the tortoise lives indoors but has supervised outdoor access during warm weather offer an excellent middle path. Transitioning the animal between indoor and outdoor environments should be gradual, particularly in spring, to avoid thermal shock and allow the animal to acclimate to natural light intensity.

Cleaning and Maintenance
