Commercial aquarium decorations such as resin caves, ceramic tubes, and stone arch formations can supplement natural shelter elements, though they should be selected carefully. Avoid decorations with rough interior surfaces that could abrade the fish, and ensure any hollow decoration has openings large enough that an Otocinclus cannot become trapped.
