Acrylic tanks are lighter than glass and offer superior insulation, which can be a meaningful advantage for Discus since maintaining temperatures in the mid-80s Fahrenheit requires constant heating. The improved insulation reduces energy costs and helps stabilize temperature swings during power outages or heater malfunctions.
