Oral administration is enhanced when given with a fatty meal, as Vitamin K1 is fat-soluble and requires bile acids for optimal absorption from the gastrointestinal tract.
The use of Vitamin K1 in horses requires veterinary supervision to ensure proper diagnosis, appropriate dosing, and monitoring of treatment response. While Vitamin K1 itself is not considered toxic even at high doses, the underlying condition requiring its use may be life-threatening and demands professional management.
