Every breeding decision should be made with the welfare of both the parent animals and the resulting offspring as the foremost consideration. Breeding should only be undertaken by keepers who have significant experience with the species, the resources to provide proper care for a potentially large number of hatchlings, and a realistic plan for placing those hatchlings in responsible, knowledgeable homes.
