In the hours following kindling, monitor the doe for signs of postpartum complications. Postpartum Care

The weaning process should be gradual and driven by the kits' development rather than an arbitrary schedule. Most Himalayan kits are fully weaned between six and eight weeks of age. Once the kits are eating independently, the doe's diet can be gradually reduced back to her normal adult maintenance levels. Allow the doe adequate rest and recovery time before considering any subsequent breeding, as back-to-back pregnancies place significant strain on her body and can shorten her healthy lifespan.
