Compatible Tankmates

The safest companions are other small, non-predatory invertebrates such as dwarf shrimp species, small snails like nerite or ramshorn snails, and other micro crabs of the same species. These tankmates pose no threat and often share similar environmental requirements.

Fish should generally be avoided in tanks where juvenile Thai Micro Crabs are being raised. Even very small fish species may eat juvenile crabs, and the crabs' inability to flee quickly makes them easy targets. Instead, indirect indicators of a healthy and growing population are more practical measures of success.

Finding small, translucent shed exoskeletons on plant surfaces or the substrate confirms that crabs are alive, growing, and molting successfully.
