Treatment focuses on providing glucose, fluids, and supportive care, but even aggressive intervention frequently fails to reverse the metabolic crisis once it is fully established. The mortality rate for clinical pregnancy toxemia ranges from seventy-five to ninety percent in most reports, making prevention absolutely essential. Understanding the risk factors, recognizing the earliest possible warning signs, and ensuring pregnant guinea pigs maintain consistent food intake throughout gestation offers the best hope for preventing this devastating condition.
