Fowl cholera is treatable when caught early, though the acute nature of many outbreaks means birds often die before treatment can be initiated. Antibiotic therapy can be highly effective in reducing mortality and controlling outbreaks when administered promptly. Prevention through strict biosecurity, rodent control, proper carcass disposal, and vaccination in endemic areas represents the most effective approach to managing this disease.
