The staple diet consists of appropriately-sized crickets, dubia roaches, and hornworms. Adult Waxy Monkey Tree Frogs can consume large crickets (3/4 to 1 inch), adult dubia roaches, superworms, hornworms, and silkworms. They'll eagerly accept varied prey and show strong feeding responses to movement. Prey items should be approximately the width of the frog's head or slightly smaller, though they'll attempt larger items if available. Feeding frequency varies by age. Juvenile Waxy Monkey Tree Frogs require feeding every 1-2 days to support growth, consuming 5-8 appropriately-sized prey items per feeding session. Adults should be fed every 2-3 days, receiving 2-4 large prey items per session. Many keepers feed adults twice weekly on consistent schedules (such as Monday and Thursday). Adjust feeding frequency based on body condition—healthy adults should appear plump but not obese, maintaining visible limb definition.
