Maintaining appropriate temperatures is critical throughout the journey. Emerald Tree Boas require warm, stable conditions, and exposure to temperatures below the mid-seventies Fahrenheit can cause stress and health complications. During cold weather, chemical heat packs rated for the expected duration of travel should be placed inside the outer container, separated from the snake bag by a layer of crumpled newspaper to prevent direct contact and potential thermal burns.
