Healthy, intact skin provides the first line of defense against opportunistic pathogens.

Maintain stable temperatures appropriate for your species. Avoid heater malfunctions that produce elevated temperatures conducive to bacterial cotton wool disease, and prevent the temperature swings that stress fish regardless of direction. Reliable equipment and regular monitoring catch problems before fish suffer.
