Their squabs are somewhat smaller than King squabs but their production rate is competitive and they tend to be efficient feeders.
Utility Homers sometimes show up in squab operations because they are widely available, inexpensive, and reasonably good parents. Their squabs are smaller than King or Carneau squabs, which affects your per-bird price in premium markets, but for a farm stand or farmers market context they can work fine.
